Best RC Drones That Don’t Require FAA Registration

Federal Aviation Administration of the United States has set some rules every drone owner has to follow. Similar case is with other countries - there are certain rules you need to obey. For example, you must not fly your drone around people and it always has to be in your sight. Also, it is forbidden to fly it near airports. If you wish to learn more, take a look at FAA’s list of guidelines on safe drone operating. For information about no-fly zones, you can check out Mapbox or consult your local aircraft clubs.

Some drones need to be registered before you can fly them. Registration can be done online and for the US drone owners it costs $5. It seems as an affordable fee, considering that fines for not registering can go up to $250,000! Still, there are some drones you don’t have to register. With that in mind, we compiled a list of best RC drones that don’t require registration.

Aerix Black Talon - Micro FPV Beginner Racing Drone

With a 720p/1280 x 720 pixels camera mounted, you can make some really nice shots with this drone. It is also very easy to operate with your smartphone or tablet. The only downside of it is that its flying range is only 4 minutes. But, you can’t really complain about it, considering that the price of the drone is just $140.

Axis Aerius Drone

Most small drones do not require FAA registration and the same case is with this one. Axis Aerius is one of the best lightweight drones, especially when taking its price into consideration. For $35, you get a fun little drone that can stay in air for 5 minutes. As you’ve probably expected, this drone doesn’t come with a camera. Blade Nano QX RTF

Considering the price/quality ration, this drone might be the best on the market. It costs about $90, but offers a lot of fun features. The best thing about it is that it has a very good fly time of 8 minutes. Still, it would be much better if it came with a camera…

UDI U818A

The biggest rival of Blade Nano QX RTF costs nearly two times less. It also features a 0.3 mpx camera and has 8 minute flight time. Still, it’s not as durable as the model mentioned above. However, even if you break it, you can find spare parts very cheaply.
